A little bit about Danny

Danni Tabbi

Danni Tabbi started learning the trade back in 1963 at Brick Lane, where hundreds worked in the fur trade and the streets of London thronged with workers from all the different garment industries. Now Danny is amongst the few still working within this trade, who is widely respected for his forty-seven years of experience at this high-end of an exclusive luxury trade. Those who merely import furs call themselves furriers, but Danny is the only one still implementing his lifetime expertise, offering Thalia clients a unique and exclusive opportunity to own part of an elite antiquity.

Danny tells about the trade:

“I learnt my trade during the sixties and seventies, and started using my skills in the late seventies and eighties. The beautiful and exhilarating thing about working with eighteen furriers during the sixties, was not only creating fur coats, collars, cuffs, stoles and hats, but also the atmosphere.

Fur is a living thing and as such, every garment we made was distinctive in its own way. We worked from scratch, one skin at a time, matching up pieces from the same length of fur. It’s definitely an art, which I have immensely enjoyed over the span of my adult life.

I look back with fond memories of the time I made a white fur collar for Princes Diana and various attires to high society lords and ladies. Some of today’s well known celebrities are also known to own pieces of my work; celebrities such as Katy Price, Kate Moss and Jemima Khan to name a few”.

At Thalia furs, we pride ourselves on our expertise, excellent customer service, quality of garments and our most competitive prices.
